Protests are still going on in many parts of the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act after passing from the Parliament of India. Protests against citizenship law are also being held in Tamil Nadu. DMK President MK Stalin expressed his displeasure and said that we condemn the Edappadi government and the police for the deliberate attack (14 February) on those who fought peacefully against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Regarding this matter, he said that those who have been held captive should be released as soon as possible and the cases registered against them should also be withdrawn.
In more than 6 cities in Tamil Nadu, women have taken to the streets and are protesting against CAA. Police lathi-charged the people protesting at Washermanpet in Chennai. After this, some people were arrested by the police again. However, the protesters were later released.
