On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved the proposal to set up a National Admission Agency to conduct the Common Eligibility Test (CET). Union Minister Prakash Javadekar informed that the establishment of the National Admission Agency for CET was done by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. It is said to be one of the major historical changes of independent India. This decision was taken in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said that this would be an important decision that crores of youth will be benefited from the formation of the agency. Through CET, there will be no need for many tests, which will save the time and resources of the candidates. Transparency will also be of great benefit.
After the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Javadekar told reporters that the youth will have to give many different exams for the job. There are about 20 admission agencies for such exams, and the candidates have to go to other places to take the exam. He said that there was a long-standing demand to remove problems in this regard. In view of this, the Cabinet has decided to form a 'National Recruitment Agency' to take the Common Eligibility Test. Union Minister Jitendra Singh This decision was said to be historic and said that initially the examinations of the three agencies will come under the ambit of the National Recruitment Agency. One officer said that initially the scope of the Railway Admission Examination, Recruitment Exams of Banks and Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will come under its ambit.
