New Delhi: On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved relaxing educational qualifications for the job of Constable to attract native tribal youth into the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) through a recruiting rally in the interior parts of Chhattisgarh's Bijapur, Dantewada, and Sukma districts.

400 tribal youths from Bijapur, Dantewada, and Sukma will be able to find work with this action.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a Cabinet meeting that made the decision.

The Cabinet approved a proposal by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to reduce the required minimum educational qualification from 10th to 8th class for the recruitment of 400 candidates as Constables (General Duty) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from three districts in South Chattisgarh: Bijapur, Dantewada, and Sukma.

Apart from placing advertisements in local publications and using all available methods to publicise the rally in these three districts' interior areas, the CRPF would also provide formal education to these newly recruited trainees during their probation period, according to a government release.
