Locals, on the other hand, said the criminals were linked to the Bajrang Dal. According to eyewitness reports, the teenagers were dressed in saffron scarves and yelled "Jai Shri Ram" as they began to assault those present. The event occurred at 9 p.m., when the arena was packed with people from all around the city who had come to celebrate.

When the violence began, several individuals were busy shooting selfies and photographs. When the revellers asked why the teenagers were protesting, the miscreants allegedly informed them that as Hindus, they should be celebrating 'Tulsi Diwas,' which falls on Christmas Day.
