New Delhi: Traders' body CAIT has written to PM Narendra Modi seeking an inquiry against e-commerce companies. CAIT has accused companies of violating rules during the sale. E-commerce companies have violated FDI and FEMA rules. CAIT has demanded an inquiry against e-commerce companies several times, but the government has not taken any action on it so far.

It may be recalled that e-commerce companies Amazon (Amazon) and Flipkart have started sales from October 3 during the festive season. Companies in this sale are offering huge discounts on products. Flipkart's The Big Billion Days (TBBD) sale is an eight-day sale that ends on October 10, while Amazon India's Great Indian Sale (GIF) will run for a month.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday assured that the concerns of every stakeholder will be taken care of while formulating the e-commerce policy. He said he would welcome the consultation of all parties on the draft e-commerce rules, but the comments related to differences in departments overdraft rules are completely unwanted.
