Chhindwara: During the civic body elections in Madhya Pradesh, can the candidates now serve liquor to the voters? One such case has come to light in which the Chhindwara district administration has submitted the rate list of domestic and foreign liquor to the candidates along with the expenditure guide for this. District Congress Committee President Vishwanath Okte has said that it is a very ridiculous thing. Candidates have been given a guide to expenses, in which there are rates of 250 types of liquor brands. Giving the rate list in this way shows that the administration has made a road map for the BJP to gain power.

In this entire matter, Collector Saurabh Kumar Suman said that illegal liquor is caught during elections, and the liquor brand bar price list has been sought from the excise department to determine the price of which. The error went to some of the candidates, a show-cause notice has been issued to the concerned clerk after conducting a preliminary inquiry into the matter.

Congress complains to the State Election Commission:-

Congress has complained to the Election Commission about the matter and demanded action against Chhindwara Assistant Excise Commissioner Madhu Singh Bhaidhia. He has said that providing the list of liquor and its rate in this manner means that the candidate can give liquor to the voters and include its expenses. This is leading to an open violation of the model code of conduct and promoting the sale of liquor. In a letter to the Election Commission, Madhya Pradesh Congress election in-charge JP Dhanopia has said that the order should be revoked immediately along with the action taken against the officer.
