Jury members Pierre Lescure and Thierry Fremaux have announced the final lineup of 56 films for the 73rd edition. But this time also no Indian film is included in this list.

Fremaux said about this time, "We cannot take everyone to the 2021 festival, so we continued to select films and this decision proved to be right. We got more than 2000 entries. Films selected for Cannes, which will not have a world premiere, will be sent to other famous film festivals such as Toronto, San Sebastian, Telluride and Venice." 16 films of women directors have been kept in these selected 56 films. Two of Israel's films have found a place in the final lineup. Four cartoon / animation movies Soul, Josep, Flea and Aya and the Witch have also been selected. Selection has been done in New Commerce, Comedy, Documentary, Omnibus, First Feature and Animation categories.
