New Delhi: Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) officials have accused the IPS officer of discrimination. Officials have written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard. In the letter, they has sought help from Home Minister Shah to end the discrimination being done IPS officers in availing their service benefits. In this letter, the CAPF officials have sought their intervention for necessary action so that their recruitment rules are amended and a new cadre is reviewed on the lines of validity for an organised central service.

With the introduction of new recruitment rules, these officers will get more posts in the monitoring rank, which is now mainly seen by IPS officers. CAPF officials have launched a social media campaign saying that despite a recent Supreme Court order and approval from the Union Cabinet, their headquarters is stalling the process of providing them organised service benefits. There is also a bottleneck in allocating more posts at the surveillance level by reducing the number of IAS officers.

Officials have urged Home Minister Shah to take necessary steps. A senior CRPF cadre official said, the authorities have requested the minister to ensure their suitable service benefits announced recently in the same manner as the declaration of a bold decision on Section 370 was followed.
