Amritsar: State Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has demanded that the conditions of Prime Minister Rural Housing Scheme should be relaxed so that more and more poor could be brought under its scope. He has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi urging him to intervene in this matter.

According to information received from the sources, the CM has said that the definition of the raw house under the SEC is very limited. Due to this, many poor families of Punjab's rural areas are deprived of its benefits. After the change in the conditions, the benefits of the scheme in Punjab will reach as many people as possible.

Along with this, Captain, referring to the meeting held on September 1, 2018 with the PM, said that Modi had mentioned the low level performance of the scheme in Punjab. In just nine months, the rank of Punjab has come down from 25 to the third position. Their government will continue to provide permanent home to every poor rural household. Due to limited rules, poor families are unable to take advantage of it.

For the solution of this problem, CM advised proper definition of raw house and said that existing rules should include permanent bricks and wooden bales. Which are not currently in the terms of the scheme. By incorporating these, more and more families will get benefit of the scheme.
