Amritsar: Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has made a big announcement on Wednesday. Amarinder Singh said he is going to form a new political party whose name will be made public soon. In a press conference, Amarinder Singh was the first to explain the work done during his tenure. However, Amarinder Singh is yet to clarify whether he will ally with any party in the Punjab elections 2022.

In a press conference, he said, 'Yes, I am forming a party. Now the question is, I can't tell you what the party's name is because I don't know it myself. When the Election Commission approves the name and symbol of the party, I will tell you. We will contest all the 117 seats.' Amarinder Singh also lashed out at Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu. He said 'my supporters are being threatened by people. We will contest from where Sidhu will stand.' Amarinder claimed that the Popularity of the Congress has declined by 25 per cent after Sidhu became the state president.

He also answered the questions raised against Amarinder during his chief minister's stay. He said that those who make fun of me about security measures, know that I have been in the army for 10 years. On the other hand, I was the Home Minister of Punjab for 9.5 years and sensitive issues were under me. The one who was home minister for a month says he knows more than me. Captain Amarinder Singh also showed the Five Year Old Congress Manifesto at a press conference. He explained how much work has been done during his tenure. He has done a lot of work in Punjab. It was claimed that 92 per cent of the manifesto work had been completed, while there were some works that could not be completed.
