Chandigarh: Captain Amarinder Singh has resigned as chief minister last Saturday amid a long-standing political turmoil in Punjab. Let me tell all of you that Captain Amarinder reached Raj Bhavan last Saturday and submitted his resignation to the Governor. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party has begun in Chandigarh.

The name of the new Chief Minister of Punjab is being discussed in this meeting. On the other hand, after his resignation, Amarinder Singh told the media that 'If the Congress makes Navjot Singh Sidhu CM, I will not consider him as CM.' In fact, Amarinder Singh said, 'What will the government-run if Sidhu is not able to run a ministry. Sidhu is a big trouble. The captain also said that preparations were being made to remove me without informing me.'

He also said, "There is always an alternative to future politics and I will use that option. I've resigned. I haven't resigned on my own. I am in the Congress, I will discuss with my colleagues and then decide further action." He further said, "In the last two months, the high command has summoned the MLAs thrice. I decided in the morning. I spoke to the Congress president in the morning. I told him that I was resigning." Now it has to be seen who is the next Chief Minister of Punjab.
