Amritsar: Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has expressed happiness over PM Narendra Modi's announcement to repeal three agricultural laws. He said he will contest the assembly elections by sharing seats with the BJP. Captain Amarinder had already said that as soon as the agricultural laws are repealed and the farmers' movement ends, he will join hands with the BJP to lock the fray. It is now certain that the Captain and the BJP will be together in the elections to be held in the state after three and a half months.

Captain Amarinder Singh expressed happiness that PM Modi listened to the farmers and understood their concern and announced the repeal of the agricultural law. Amarinder said, "I continued to raise this issue and meet the Central Government''. After PM Modi's announcement, Captain Amarinder Singh said, "This is a big day for us in Punjab today. I had been raising this issue for more than a year. I also met PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on this. He appealed to them to listen to the voice of the Farmers. Very happy that he listened to the farmers and understood our concerns''. 

Amarinder further said that this is not only a big relief for the farmers but also opens the way for the progress of Punjab. He said he will now work with the BJP-led Central Government for the development of farmers. He promised the farmers of Punjab that they would not rest unless they wiped the tears of everyone in Punjab.
