New Delhi: In Punjab, the Congress party is in turmoil ahead of the assembly elections. Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday evening (September 29, 2021) amid the ongoing political turmoil in the party. The meeting lasted for 45 minutes at Amit Shah's residence. There is speculation in the media about the meeting that a senior Congress leader may soon take over the BJP. There is talk that the BJP may bring the Captain to the government through the Rajya Sabha. Or, he can be given the post of Agriculture Minister.

On the other hand, sources close to the Captain said that the two leaders met to discuss the issue of farmers. In fact, on Tuesday (September 28, 2021), Amarinder Singh, while facing the media in Delhi, claimed that he had no political programme. According to another report, BJP sources say the party is considering a strategy to use the captain properly. He said it would be appropriate to include him in the party as a face or to form a new political party led by Captain Amarinder Singh and support the BJP from outside.

Amarinder Singh had to leave the CM's chair recently in disgrace. He had told the party high command that he would not tolerate insults. He then launched a major attack on Navjot Singh Sidhu. Describing Sidhu as a threat to the nation, he had announced that he would not allow Sidhu to become the CM of Punjab. He will field a strong candidate against Sidhu in the elections to prevent him from winning. He also called Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi inexperienced.
