Amritsar: Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh on Wednesday lashed out at Congress party leaders. The Captain said, "Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra lack experience.'' Amarinder Singh said he will field a strong candidate against state Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu in the upcoming assembly elections.
Captain further said, "He will put his career to stop Sidhu from becoming the CM candidate of Punjab.'' Captain termed Sidhu as a dangerous man and said there was a need to save the country from such people. He said, "He is ready to take any steps to protect the state from such a terrible man.'' Amarinder Singh said in an interview, 'Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi are like my children. Nothing should end like this. I'm hurt. He said Rahul and Priyanka are being misled by their advisors.'
Captain revealed that he had offered his resignation to party working president Sonia Gandhi 3 weeks ago but Sonia had asked her to continue in office at that time. Amarinder further said, 'If she called me and asked me to resign, I would have resigned immediately.' Amarinder further said that as a soldier, I know how to work and how to come back.
