In EurAsia Cup which is scheduled to be held in January next year in Malaysia,  the Indian professional golfer Arjun Singh Atwal has been declared as the captain of Team Asia which will face the Europe team led by the Thomas Bjorn. He is the second Indian who will be leading the team in the tournament after Jeev Milkha Singh who led the team in 2016.

The  EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM is scheduled to be held from January 12-14, 2018 at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in the Malaysian capital. The European side will look forward to clinching the trophy which it won two years ago under the leadership of Darren Clarke.

It is going to be the third edition of the Cup. The first edition was played in March 2014 at the Glenmarie Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The second edition was played in 2016 at the same venue.

For Atwal, the first and only Indian to win on the PGA Tour, it will be his first time in the captaincy role. The 44-year-old Atwal is an eight-time Asian Tour champion, three-time European Tour winner and a winner on the PGA Tour.
