Mirzapur, In a shocking incident, a car plunged into canal in Chunar area due to which six members of a family, including two minors, were killed and four others were injured.

Superintendent of Police Arvind Sen said, that the incident occurred last evening when they were returning after paying obeisance at a dargah.

SP added, “the deceased identified as Mehboob Alam 65, Niyaz 33, Salma 32, Sajre Alam 2, Sharmila 28 and Nusra 3 were killed when the jeep in which they were travelling skidded off the road into a canal last evening”.

The injured were rushed to Varanasi after primary treatment in a nearby community health centre.
