Jalpaiguri, Yesterday, at a tea garden in Malbazar area of Jalpaiguri district, the carcass of a fully-grown clouded leopard was found. "The clouded leopard's carcass was spotted by tea garden labourers of Kurti Estate at Malbazar subdivision under Nagrakata block yesterday morning", said a senior forest official.

According to officer, "carnivore is believed to have strayed from adjacent Dyna Forest range and the carcass has been sent for autopsy to ascertain the reason behind the animal's death".

The leopard is a member of the Felidae family and one of the five 'big cats' in the genus Panthera.
