We have been waiting for Pixar shorts to return Pixar Animation Studios has revealed that it will be releasing a new short film based on Up.
Starting in June 16, 2023, the short film will be shown in theaters before to Pixar's next feature Elemental. Moreover, Carl's Date pays homage to the late Ed Asner, who provided the voice for Carl. The movie's fans are ecstatic about this news and are expressing enthusiasm for the impending release.

"Carl's Date," a short film created after the "Up"-based "Dug Days" series of films that debuted on Disney in 2021, will be adapted for the big screen. The short, which shows Carl Fredricksen (Ed Asner) getting ready for his first date since Ellie passed away, will play before "Elemental," the next Pixar film from Peter Sohn, who helped to inspire Russell in "Up." Carl’s Date is written and directed by Bob Peterson, who co-directed Up in his feature directorial debut.

The 2009 film Up follows the exploits of grumpy widower Carl, cheerful scout child Russell (voiced by Jordan Nagai), and loyal dog Dug as they join together to survive the wilderness and prevent the extinction of an unique bird species. Even though there may be some disagreement about whether Pixar film is the finest, Up consistently places highly on any fans' lists. That shouldn't come as a surprise considering that Up is an action-packed tale that also deals with serious issues like loss, grief, and family reunion. Dug's Day, a series sequel on Disney in 2021, revealed how the decent youngster was adjusting to suburbia life at Carl's side.
