Lucknow: A case of culpable homicide has been registered on four policemen in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh. Shamli police said on Monday that a case has been registered against four policemen in connection with the death of a 50-year-old man. The body of the elderly was found in suspicious circumstances in Elem town of Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh.
The deceased was identified as Ombir. Following the death of Ombir, his family members created a ruckus on Sunday, alleging that Ombir died after four policemen raided his house. In this case, Station House Officer (SHO) Rajat Tyagi said that the police registered a case under Section 304 of IPC against four policemen and an unknown person on the complaint of the family of the deceased. He said that three of the policemen have been attached to the line.
Superintendent of Police Sukirti Madhav Mishra on Sunday said that an inquiry has been ordered to find out the reason behind the man's death. However, the real cause of death has not been revealed yet. The police is waiting for the post mortem report.
