Actress Payal Ghosh has filed a sexual assault case against renowned Bollywood film director Anurag Kashyap. As soon as the case was registered, Mumbai Police summoned Anurag to the police station for questioning where he was interrogated for about 8 hours. Hours later, the director was seen leaving the Versova police station.

Anurag Kashyap went to the police station on October 1 last Thursday. After hours of interrogation by the Mumbai police, Anurag Kashyap was asked to leave. In a tweet, Payal Ghosh thanked the Mumbai police. She also said in the post that "She now hopes for justice". Anurag's advocate Priyanka Khimani has released a statement. "All allegations levelled against Anurag are false."

The director's advocate says "False allegations of sexual harassment have been levelled against her client. He has been deeply saddened by the summons that has come to him. All the accusations levelled by the exhibit are false, reprehensible and false. It is very sad that people do not understand the importance of the #MeToo movement and are misusing it". According to media reports, Payal Ghosh has claimed that Anurag Kashyap forced himself on her.

The Women's Commission is also ready to file a complaint against Anurag Kashyap. Some time ago, when Payal's complaint was not filed, they had decided to start a hunger strike outside the police station. They also had a meeting with Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday. The actress appealed for her safety and asked the police to take Anurag Kashyap into custody as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the actress got the support of Union Minister Ramdas Athawale.
