Chhatarpur: The Chhatarpur district police of Madhya Pradesh has registered a case against Saurabh alias Shaligram Garg, younger brother of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, Peethadheeshwar of Bageshwar Dham, under the SC/ST Act. Shaligram, popularly known as 'Chhote Maharaj', is accused of entering a wedding function and threatening a Dalit family at gunpoint, hurling casteist abuses, and assaulting them.

The case is from Garha village of Chhatarpur district. On February 11, the marriage ceremony of the daughter of a Dalit family was being held in the village. At around 12 o'clock in the night, Shaligram Garg, the younger brother of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri arrived at the wedding program and started abusing and assaulting people. During this, smoking cigarettes and under the influence of alcohol, Shaligram misbehaved with women and also threatened to kill them by showing a country-made pistol. Along with this, he also fired in the air and tried to stop the marriage. Due to this Barati got scared and returned to his village Aktoha after eating food.  

A video of Shaligram's hooliganism at the wedding ceremony of a daughter of a Dalit family is also going viral on social media. In the video, it is clearly seen that Shaligram is threatening people with a cigarette in his mouth and a gun in his hand and hurling dirty abuses. At the same time, he is trying to beat up a person by catching him. In this Garha village, only the song of Bageshwar Dham will be played. At that time, when the people present there refused to play the song of Bageshwar Dham, this criminal started misbehaving with the people. After the video went viral, the Bamitha police station swung into action and registered a case under sections 294, 323, 506, and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as the SC/ST Act.
