Guwahati: The matter is taking a political turn after Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's statement on the 'surgical strike.' After being criticised by several Union ministers and leaders, it has now been reported quoting sources in the Assam Police that based on complaints from several BJP supporters, the Assam Police has registered a case against Chandrasekhar Rao for seeking evidence for the surgical strikes and insulting the Army.

Assam Police sources said on Tuesday that based on complaints from several supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Assam Police has registered a case against Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao for seeking evidence for the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army and for attempting to incite anti-India sentiments.

Questioning the army's surgical strikes, CM KCR had said, "There is nothing wrong in Rahul Gandhi's demand for evidence on the surgical strikes. The evidence that is asked for is not wrong. The BJP always does wrong propaganda." KCR had also said, adding, "I am also asking for proof. What Rahul Gandhi has asked is not wrong. That's what I'm asking the Government of India."
