Thiruvananthapuram: On Wednesday, 1,212 new cases of corona infection were reported in Kerala, including 22 health workers. While 5 more infected people have lost their lives due to corona. With the new cases, the number of infected people in the state has gone up to 38,144 and the death toll to 125. State Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that 880 patients became healthy during the day and now treatment of 13,045 patients is going on in different hospitals of the state.

He further explained in this regard, "Out of 1,212 new cases, 1,068 people have become infected by contacting the infected." The source of 45 cases is not yet known. 51 people have come from abroad while 64 are from other states. Corona patients include 22 health workers. The 5 patients who died of this deadly virus were aged 53, 50, 77, 55 and 89 and were residents of Kasaragod, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam districts.

In this do, Vijayan said that 880 people have become healthy, due to which the total figure of healthy people in the state has increased to 24,926. He further said, "At present, treatment of 13,045 patients of covid-19 is going on in the state." At least 1,51,752 people, including 12,426, are under surveillance in separate wards of different hospitals of the state. CM said that 28,644 samples have been examined in the last twenty four hours in the state. He also said that three more areas in the state have been classified as hotspots, taking the total number of such areas to 540.
