Another dead corpse was discovered besides a river at the encounter site beneath the Daribas border outpost in Coochbehar, which borders Bangladesh, after a person was shot by BSF on suspicion of being a livestock smuggler.

The injured guy was also described as a "active livestock courier/smuggler" by the BSF. His wife has also been charged with transnational crimes. "Under the NDPS Act, his wife was detained by BSF personnel in November 2020. "Since then, she's been in court custody," BSF added.

Jahidul Miya, a native of Jaridharlla hamlet in Coochbehar district, has been identified as the dead.
