Kolkata: Birbhum Trinamool Congress (TMC) district president Anubrata Mondal, who was arrested in connection with a cow smuggling case in west Bengal, was produced before a CBI court in Asansol on Wednesday. Where the court rejected his bail plea. A special CBI court in Asansol on Wednesday again sent Mamata Banerjee's close aide Anubrata Mondal to 14-day jail custody. Judge Rajesh Chakraborty sent Anubrata to jail till September 21.  

In today's hearing, the CBI has once again described Anubrata Mondal as an 'influential person.' Advocate Farooq Razzaq, on the other hand, cited Mondal's illness. Anubrata Mondal was produced before the court from Asansol jail around 11.30 am today. In response to a question from reporters on the occasion, Mondal said that his health is not good. Anubrata Mondal's judicial custody ended today. He was later produced before the CBI court. The probe agency had opposed Mondal's bail plea. Let me tell you that after the arrest of Mamata Banerjee's special leader Anubrata Mondal, the CBI raided Bolpur again on August 17.

Mondal's accountant Manish Kothari was also called and questioned by the CBI. However, nothing much was found in Anubrata Mondal's bank account. There were no transactions in those accounts. After this, Manish Kothari's house was checked. The CBI had searched the properties of several close people, including Anubrata Mondal's daughter Sukanya. It has been reported that the full information has been presented in court on Wednesday. CBI officials told the court where the money deposited in the banks of Anubrata Mondal and his close associates came from.
