New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the INX media case, was produced before a special CBI court today (Thursday). Earlier, the CBI questioned the Congress leader for several hours. Chidambaram's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi and his son Karti Chidambaram have reached the court.

Chidambaram, accused in INX media-related corruption and money laundering cases, was produced before CBI Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar's court (Rause Avenue). As soon as the arguments in the CBI court over Chidambaram's remand began, CBI lawyer Tushar Mehta said that Chidambaram was not cooperating in the probe. So the CBI needs his 5-day remand.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the CBI, also said that Chidambaram was not answering the agency's questions. Congress leader Chidambaram is standing in the court room. Meanwhile, cbi counsel says there is strong evidence against Chidambaram. Chidambaram's lawyers have opposed the CBI remand.
