New Delhi: In the INX Media case, the special court has issued an order to appear on October 24 to all the accused, including the former finance minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram's son Karti, former INX Media director Peter Mukherjee and public servants. The Rouse Avenue Court issued summons yesterday, ie on Monday, taking cognizance of the CBI charge sheet. P. Chidambaram, who is lodged in Tihar Jail in the case, has also been asked to appear before the court. His judicial custody is also ending on the same day.

The CBI had recently filed a charge sheet against 14 accused in the case. The CBI has not made Indrani an accused as she has become a government witness. Karthi Chidambaram, his accountant S Bhaskaran, Peter Mukherjee, Chase Management Services Pvt Ltd, Advantage Strategic Consulting Pvt Ltd and some bureaucrats were also named in it.

Among the bureaucrats were the then Section Officer Ajit Kumar Dungdung, Under Secretary Rabindra Prasad, Director of the FIPB unit of the Ministry of Finance, Prabodh Saxena, OSD Pradeep Kumar Bagga, Joint Secretary Anup K. Pujari, Additional Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs Sindhushree Khullar. All have been accused in the charge sheet of criminal conspiracy under IPC, cheating, forgery and taking bribe under Prevention of Corruption Act and engaging in criminal activities. Earlier, the CBI had told the court that it had the necessary sanction to prosecute all the accused.
