CBI probe against Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Muzzafarpur shelter home case

Patna: In the Muzzafarpur shelter home case, a special court has ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe against the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The decision came in after the case was shifted to Delhi from Bihar, in order to finish the trial within six months.

A source reported this is not the first time Nitish Kumar-led government is under the radar. Throughout the investigation, the members of Kumar's government failed to justify to the legal authorities. Earlier as well, the Supreme Court cracked a whip at the cabinet minister Manju Verma for the failure in the shelter home case. Meanwhile, now a special POCSO court has ordered an enquiry against the CM. Reportedly, the Bihar government has been complicit in so far providing the inputs to the investigating agencies.

Meanwhile, a source reported, Ashwani, a self-styled medical practitioner who allegedly used to inject the home's inmates with sedatives before they were subject to sexual abuse had alleged in his petition that the CBI was "suppressing facts".  POCSO judge Manoj Kumar directed the CBI to conduct an inquiry against people. The PTI further claimed that the trial in the high-profile case was transferred vide order dated February 7 to the Special POCSO court at Saket, Delhi where the hearing is likely to commence from next week.
