CBI raids 45 places from Bengal to Bihar against coal mafia

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has accused Anup Majhi alias Lala, including the Chief Security Officer and two General Managers of Eastern Coalfield Limited, of illegally digging and stealing coal by the coal mafia in the leasehold mines of Eastern Coalfield Limited. 

Along with this, unknown officers of Central Industrial Security Force and Indian Railways have also been accused. The CBI is raiding a total of 45 places, including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. According to CBI sources, the investigating agency had come to know that the coal mafia was stealing a large scale from two leasehold coal mines of Eastern Coalfield Limited.

The theft conspiracy also includes two officers of the General Manager level of Eastern Coalfield Limited and the Chief Security Officer there. The CBI also came to know that in this criminal conspiracy, some employees of the Central Industrial Security Force deployed to protect these coal mines are also supporting them. Some employees of Indian Railways are also involved in this conspiracy to move coal from one place to another.
