CBI raids retired officer's house, 38 crore cash recovered, RK Gupta arrested along with son

New Delhi: The CBI has seized Rs 38 crore from the residence of Rajendra Kumar Gupta, former CMD of Water and Power Consultancy Service Limited (WAPCOS), after which he and his son Gaur Singhal have been arrested. The Central Investigation Agency CBI had seized Rs 20 crore from the former CMD's house till late night of Tuesday (May 2). Till now Rs 38 crore has been recovered from his house.

Along with this, jewelery and all documents have also been seized. After recovering such a huge amount of cash, Rajendra Kumar Gupta and his son Gaurav Singhal have been arrested by the CBI. Let us tell you that Water and Power Consultancy Service India Limited (WAPCOS) comes under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India. CBI has registered a case against former WAPCOS CMD Rajendra Kumar Gupta and his family members. About Rs 38.5 crore cash has been seized so far.

According to media reports, the CBI on Tuesday raided 19 locations belonging to the former officer including Delhi, Chandigarh, Panchkula, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad. The CBI had recovered Rs 20 crore in cash from RK Gupta's hideouts on Tuesday, after which a case was also registered against the entire family.
