Kolkata: Former Kolkata Police commissioner Rajiv Kumar, accused of erasing evidence in the Saradha chit fund scam case, received a major setback from the special CBI court on Tuesday. Fearing arrest, Rajiv Kumar had filed an anticipatory bail plea for him, which the court has categorically refused to hear.

Now after this Rajiv Kumar's difficulties have increased. It is being told that the CBI may soon issue a non-bailable warrant against Rajiv Kumar. After this, Kumar will be arrested wherever he is. The CBI has not yet received a reply to the letter written by the investigating agency to the state home secretary and the chief secretary to find out where Rajiv Kumar is.

Therefore, the CBI's favour for the arrest of Rajiv Kumar is becoming increasingly stronger. The reason for this is that since last Saturday, the CBI has been looking for him for interrogation and he has refused to join the inquiry as an excuse to stay on leave for personal reasons. Rajiv Kumar, on the other hand, is constantly circling the court for anticipatory bail, raising questions about his motives. The CBI is preparing to go to court regarding this aspect.
