New Delhi: CBI will question former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh today in connection with the 'Rs 100 crore letter.' Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh had leveled serious allegations of corruption and illegal recovery against Anil Deshmukh. A team of CBI in Mumbai has summoned Anil Deshmukh for questioning on Tuesday to investigate the same allegations.

Two teams of CBI had reached Mumbai to investigate the case on the orders of the Bombay High Court. One of the teams has summoned former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh to question him. As soon as the Bombay High Court ordered an inquiry into the matter. A day later, the CBI team had reached Mumbai. Nearly half a dozen CBI officials led by a Superintendent of Police officer are investigating corruption allegations leveled against Anil Deshmukh by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. They are also going to record the statements of the people concerned.

A team of CBI had first reached Mumbai and later reached the second to conduct a preliminary inquiry (PE) against Anil Deshmukh on the orders of the Bombay High Court. If CBI finds evidence related to Param Bir Singh's allegations against Anil Deshmukh, the federal investigating agency will file an FIR against the former Maharashtra Home Minister.
