Following postponement of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) examination, students have lost motivation to prepare the board examination having 5 more months to prepare. On the other hand, CBSE schools in Indore are planning to conduct offline examinations for class IX and XI in March, citing postponement of board examinations. Syllabus for class X and class XII board examination was completed in December and most private schools even conducted first pre-boards before Christmas.

Now, with CBSE examinations scheduled in May 2021, the seriousness towards board examination has taken a break. Science students, who will be attempting entrance examinations i.e. JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) and NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) are focusing solely on them now. However, as the decision affects other stream students as well, it might just delay their admissions in college and further studies.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had invited queries and concerns regarding the upcoming board and competitive examinations from students. Of the many requests and responses received, most of them are for postponing CBSE Board Examinations 2021 from their usual Feb-Mar schedule to May 2021.
