NEW DELHI: In most recent development, a copy of the leaked class X Maths paper that was scheduled for Wednesday was delivered to the office of the CBSE chairperson on Tuesday evening as TOI reported.

This news raising questions whether the board should have acted to scrap the paper before the examination got under way.

The occurrence is seen as a challenge “catch-me-if-you-can” on part of gang accused to be behind the paper leak .This may bethe also an unidentified act by someone in possession of the leaked Maths paper. Senior sources in the ministry of human resource development surprised whether CBSE should have acted with more readiness and spared students a re-test.

The ministry has ordered an extensive investigation and officials said that accountability will be fixed at all levels. As the government scrambled to gather facts, the initial investigation has indicated that the leak may be the handiwork of a gang working in cahoots with individuals at a particular paper bank and a few schools.

However, the whole smash up was done as the leaked paper sparked widespread annoyance over the board’s lack of ability to ensure the inviolability of the exam process. Faced with demands for action, the government is looking to stiffen the paper distribution process through encryption where schools will be given a key to print papers a short while in front of exams. The possibility of such a system is also being examined.
