The festival of Shiva Navaratri has started from yesterday i.e. March 3. This festival is going to last till March 11 and the last day of Mahakal Navaratri i.e. on March 11, the festival of Mahashivaratri is going to be celebrated. It is said that this period Mahamrityunjaya ritual is uniquely fruitful. In fact, on the day of Falgun Krishna Paksha Chaturdashi, the 12 Jyotirlinga combined with the 12 Jyotirlingas of the Sun and the marriage day of Lord Shiva Parvati is called Maha Shivaratri Mahaparva.

This festival is considered very special. It is said that Shiva Navaratri or Mahakal Navaratri is celebrated till 9 days before Mahashivaratri. Just as Shiva worships Shakti during Navratri days, Shiva is worshiped on the day of Shiva Navratri. This Navaratri is especially celebrated in many Shiva temples in addition to the famous twelve Jyotirlingas of the country. Even during this Navaratri, special pooja is done till nine nights.

During this time, Mahaghleshwar temple of Laghurudra, Maharudra, Adhudra, Rudrabhishek, Shivarchan, Harikirtan are organized. It is said that in the Krishna Paksha, the phases of the moon are weakened and the weakening of the Moon due to the mind causes mental anguish.
