Today, our beloved nation celebrates 72 years of its freedom and victory against the slavery that was imposed on us by Britain.

Today, when each citizen of the country is filled with pride and patriotism, how could our Bollywood celebrities be at the back foot.

Our Celebrities also took to their various social pages and wished their fans, a happy Independence day.

Bollywood Diva, Sonam Kapoor took to her Twitter page and posted, “What does it mean to be free? Our forefathers fought to create a beautiful & safe home for us. As we look back over India’s great history, let’s be thankful for everything. Be liberal, empathetic, have civic sense, be tolerant & love your country! Happy Independence Day!”

 

Farhan Akhtar Tweeted, “This Independence Day, may all Indians pledge to work towards freeing their minds from prejudice & liberating their hearts from hatred. We are a great country with a glorious tradition of diversity. Let’s work together to keep the spirit of our founding fathers alive. Jai Hind.”

Akshay Kumar tweeted, “Freedom is never free. Let us salute all those who fought for our freedom and to those who fight for us day and night at the borders to keep us safe. Let us not take their sacrifices for granted and always work towards a better India.”

Amitabh Bachchan shared a poetry by his father and renowned poet, Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He posted the poem with a caption, “Swatantra Hain Hum Aur Swatantrata Diwas Ki Anek Anek Shubhkamnayen. Aur Poojya Babuji ki Ek Kavita is  avasar  pe.”
