Scientists are trying to develop technology that can contribute to reducing the pollution, as earth is suffering from major pollution issues. Non- biodegradable wastes are seen to be one of the biggest problems.

Recently, a study carried out by the scientists said that the cellulose can be the alternative to plastic bags.  And all new biodegradable carry bags can be manufactured by 3D printing technology.

One of the researchers, Pattinson said, "Cellulose and its derivatives are used in pharmaceuticals, medical devices as food additives, building materials, clothing, all sorts of different areas. And a lot of these kinds of products would benefit from the kind of customization that additive manufacturing – 3D printing enables."
