New Delhi: The coronavirus has not stopped yet. In view of this, the Centre has asked states and Union Territories to ensure that people celebrate festivals in the wake of the corona epidemic in a "very careful and safe manner." Recently, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan wrote to states and Union Territories. The letter said, "The guidelines (SOPs) issued last month should be followed to curb any increase in Covid-19 cases.''

Let us tell you in advance that the Health Secretary had reviewed the present situation in vaccination and corona through video conferencing with states and Union Territories. In fact, Rajesh Bhushan has written in his letter, "No mass event should be allowed in areas identified as prohibited areas and districts with infection rates of more than five per cent.'' At the same time, he also said, "Necessary instructions should be issued adequately in advance by the concerned State Governments to exercise caution during festivals. Penal action should also be taken in case of violation of appropriate corona related behaviour.''

The Centre also said, "It is important that district health officers keep a close watch on the number of local cases and intervene in time and strictly on the basis of advisories issued by the Health Ministry and the Ministry of Home Affairs from time to time.'' It has further been stated that last month medical experts had indicated a third wave of corona due to negligence in the festive season. At the same time, experts also suggested that all steps be taken to check the rush of people during this period.
