Hyderabad: Energy Minister G Jagadeesh Reddy, while addressing the media on Tuesday on the issue of impending power crisis, made an interesting remark that the state has coal reserves, which can last for the next 200 years. But he did not provide data on existing coal reserves in power projects.

 Ruling out the scope for power cuts in Telangana due to nationwide coal shortage, the minister said there will not be a power cut in the state even for a minute as the government has decided to provide uninterrupted power supply to Hyderabad city generated from power plants across the state. has arranged. In addition, a power grid has been set up to supply electricity from Hyderabad to other districts.

The minister further said that the power generated at Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar, Ramagundam, Bhupalpally, Kothagudem and Manuguru would be sufficient for Telangana, and added that the required power supply of 16,000 MW was being provided. The minister said that there is a possibility of serious problem in the coming days due to the decisions taken by the central government. He also suspected that the Center was creating such a situation for privatization of the power sector.
