Minister of state for finance gives advice to vehicle companies in case of GST

Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that his ministry will start 68 road projects worth Rs five lakh crore in the next three months to generate demand for commercial vehicles. Gadkari said at the annual symposium of SIAM here that it is the demand of the industry that taxes on petrol and diesel vehicles should be reduced. Your suggestions are good. I will convey your message to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Gadkari said that if this GST is also reduced for some time, it will help. The Minister said that I will put this matter before the Finance Minister. The vehicle sector needs help to increase sales. Gadkari said that as the GST on electric vehicles was reduced from 12 percent to five percent, the Finance Minister would be suggested to give this benefit on hybrid vehicles as well.
