NEW DELHI: In the Assam NRC case, the Modi government and the state government at the Centre have once again approached the Supreme Court seeking an extension of the NRC draft deadline. On which Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has said that we will see. The apex court has set a deadline of July 31. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had sought an early hearing from the Supreme Court.

Earlier in the last hearing, the apex court had asked Coordinator Pratik Hazela to complete the work by the 31st of July, just because of this reason not to rush the process. On behalf of the government, Attorney General K K Venugopal had sought permission to base all the 15 documents, saying that most of the people in Assam, who are living in villages and educated less, who are left out, should get an opportunity to claim themselves.
