Kolkata: West Bengal assembly elections are witnessing new twists every day. Polling will be held in 44 seats spread over five districts in the fourth phase on Saturday, April 10. Earlier, there has been talked that Sisir Adhikari, father of Suvendu Adhikari, who is contesting against Mamata in Nandigram, may be made governor by the Central government. Although the discussion had arisen earlier, the issue is very hot these days.

Sisir Adhikari has been in the Trinamool Congress (TMC) for a long time. He is still a Lok Sabha MP on a Trinamool ticket. As per the discussion, a formal proposal has not yet been sent by the Central Government to the Sisir Adhikari. But those close to 80-year-old Sisir say that if such a proposal comes, they will not reject it. Tell me, Shishir Adhikari is currently a TMC MP from the Kanthi seat.

After the assembly elections are over, TMC is likely to apply to the Lok Sabha Speaker to dismiss his MP post. Therefore, the Central Government is considering honoring the Sisir Adhikari with a dignified post. There is talk of making him governor of an Eastern State. If Sisir is made governor, he will have to step down as an MP. The BJP is likely to field his younger son Soumyendu Adhikari from the Kanthi Lok Sabha seat.
