New Delhi: The ancient statue of Mother Annapurna Devi is being brought back from Delhi to Varanasi by road today. It has been instructed by the Yogi government of UP that the statue of the mother should be taken from Delhi to Varanasi while taking out a procession. The places from where this procession will take off by road will be welcomed in a grand manner. According to the information, 100 years ago this statue of Mother Annapurna was stolen from Varanasi.

Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Avneesh Awasthi said that today the statue of Mother Annapurna will be taken to Uttar Pradesh. Yogi government will take out 4-day Mata Annapurna Devi Yatra till Varanasi. On November 15, the statue will be installed in the Vishwanath temple by CM Yogi. At the same time, Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi said that a statue of Mother Annapurna, which was stolen from Varanasi about 100 years ago, was recently recovered from Canada. On November 15, the idol will be installed at the Kashi Viswanath temple. The Government of India will hand over the statue of Mother Annapurna to the UP government today.

On the other hand, Lucknow Mayor Sanyukta Bhatia said that this ancient statue of Mother Annapurna has come back from Canada with the efforts of PM Modi. With the idol of Mother Annapurna, vigorous preparations are being made for a grand procession in Lucknow. 100 years ago, the statue of Mother Annapurna was stolen from Varanasi and went to Canada. PM Modi has made constant efforts to bring back this statue by validating contact with the Government of Canada.
