Amid deaths of kids due to suspected dengue and viral fever in UP’s Firozabad, the 5-member Central panel of the Health Ministry on Friday, September 4,  conducted a door-to-door inspection and made people aware of the do's and dont's to mitigate the spread of dengue in the district. Several senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday visited the state-run medical college here and interacted with patients of dengue and viral fever. The visit comes after death toll due to dengue and viral fever in the district mounted to 50 on Friday.

Speaking after the house-to-house inspection, Dr Sudesh Kumar, Entomologist, Lucknow said, "We have conducted a complete survey and the mosquitoes are found in water and dirt, so the district magistrate here has restricted people from filling water in their coolers for the next one month. We have collected a lot of samples here. We have also got larvae. The people here have been made aware that they should not allow water to accumulate in the cooler or anywhere in their vicinity."

District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh instructed officials of the municipal corporation and health department to ensure that stagnant water, especially in coolers, is drained out. Instructions were also issued to empty water from pots and plastic utensils. 3 fatalities were reported in Firozabad on Friday as the inflow of patients continued in hospitals of the district in the grip of the epidemic.
