New Delhi: On the occasion of completion of 1 year of bringing the law that abolishes the mischief of triple talaq of the Muslim community, Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has said that it is a matter of satisfaction that after the enactment of the law, there is a lot of cases of triple talaq has decreased. When Ravi Shankar Prasad was asked what a great achievement it is for the government when it is one year old. So he replied that today we have happiness as well as pain.

The Union Minister said, "When 20 Islamic countries had banned triple talaq, why did India take 70 years for it? Still so much opposition? I am proud of my PM, who said that you should stand up with Khavatino, both inside and outside the Supreme Court." Ravishankar Prasad said that we have said many times that this issue is neither for worship nor prayer. It is a matter of dignity of women. Today, 1 year of female self-respect has been completed and I will encourage all those who are Khawatin, who are Muslim sisters, they stood with full courage. It is a matter of great satisfaction that cases have decreased today.

The Union Minister further said that the reason behind the decline in triple talaq cases is the provision of non-bailable warrants in the law. It is necessary for the wife to be heard for the bail hearing. Our government is committed to women justice, if this development has taken place in it, then it is a matter of satisfaction. Similarly, we will continue to work for women's justice.
