New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed to increase demand to restore the economy. In today's press conference, the Finance Minister has made some proposals which may increase the demand. This press conference of Nirmala Sitharaman is taking place before the GST Council meeting. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has introduced the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) cash voucher scheme to boost consumer demand.

It has also been announced to give exemption to Central Government employees in blocks of 4 years. Now central employees will have two options. Now once in 4 years, you can go to your hometown anywhere and once in the country. Another option is that central employees can go to their hometown twice and take advantage of LTA cash. Till now, central employees could go anywhere, taking advantage of LTA once in 4 years.

Employees will be reimbursed air or rail fares according to their pay scale. Along with this, you will get 10-day leave encashment (Pay + DA). Along with this, special interest-free loans will be given to the states for 50 years. Its first part will be Rs 2500 crore. Out of this, 1600 crore rupees will be given to the North East States. The remaining Rs 900 crore will be provided to Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

7500 crore rupees will be given to other states under the second part. The division of this amount will be determined on the basis of the states' share in the Finance Commission among the states. The first and second part of the loan of Rs 12,000 crore for 50 years will be interest-free, but this amount will have to be spent till 31 March 2021.
