NEW DELHI:: The Union government will move the Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022 for consideration and passing in the Rajya Sabha today, August 8.

The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which seeks to further amend the Lok Sabha-approved Central Universities Act, 2009, will be introduced by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Health, will bring a resolution to elect one Member of the House to the Council of the Institutes created by the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (Amendment) Act, 2021, in the manner specified by the Chairman.

Mandaviya will also move a motion to appoint a member of the Northeastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, Shillong, to the Governing Council, in accordance with the Chairman's instructions.
The Public Accounts Committee's 53rd report on "Excesses over Voted Grants and Charged Appropriations (2019-20)" will be presented by Bhubaneswar Kalita and Shaktisingh Gohil (2022-23).

The 19th Report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Mines, and Steel on "Coal Conservation and Development of Infrastructure for Transportation of Coal across the Country" pertaining to the Ministry of Coal will be discussed in a statement by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi.
