Amid the offshore Afghanistan crsis, the Centre has called for an all-party meeting on August 26 to address the Afghanistan crisis that has jolted the world over the past weeks since the Taliban grabbed power in the war-torn country. The all-party meeting on the Afghanistan crisis will take place on August 26 at 11 am. Earlier, PM Narendra Modi asked the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to brief floor leaders of all political parties on the recent developments in Afghanistan.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a tweet, "In view of developments in Afghanistan, PM Narendra Modi has instructed that MEA brief Floor Leaders of political parties. Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Prahlad Joshi will be intimating further details."

The government's briefing is expected to focus on India's evacuation mission from Afghanistan as well as the government's assessment of the developing situation in Afghanistan.
