New Delhi, India: The Union Health Ministry announced on Friday, December 3,  that more than 138 crore COVID-19 vaccinations had been distributed to states and union territories as part of the statewide vaccination programme.

According to information provided by the ministry, a total of precisely 1,38,50,13,650 doses have been distributed to states and union territories through the free-of-charge channel and direct state procurement categories. According to the ministry, 22,05,87,426 crore in balance and unutilized COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states and union territories to be delivered to the eligible population, according to an official release.

In an official statement, the ministry stated, "The Union Government is dedicated to speeding the pace and broadening the breadth of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country." "The vaccination effort has been accelerated by the availability of more vaccinations, advance visibility of vaccine availability to states and UTs for better planning, and streamlining the vaccine supply chain," the report stated.

The Government of India has been helping the States and Union Territories by supplying them with free COVID Vaccines as part of the nationwide vaccination drive. The Union Government would acquire and supply (free of charge) 75 percent of the vaccines manufactured by vaccine producers in the country to States and Union Territories in the new phase of the COVID-19 vaccination effort.
