Centre to table Weapons of Mass Destruction Amendment Bill in RS today

NEW DELHI: The 'Weapons of Mass Destruction and Their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022' is expected to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. The Lok Sabha passed the bill on Wednesday.

Dr. S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, will move that the Bill to Amend the Weapons of Mass Destruction and Their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005, be brought into consideration and passed.

Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Defence, will make a remark on the status of recommendations contained in the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence on Demands for Grants (2019-20) on "Army, Navy, Air Force, and Joint Staff."

Anupriya Patel, Union Minister, will move a motion to elect one member of the Marine Products Export Development Authority from among the House of Commons in the manner recommended by the Chairman.

Union Minister Bhupender Yadav will introduce a motion to elect one member of the National Tiger Conservation Authority from among the House of Commons in the manner recommended by the Chairman. The minister's response is likely to conclude the discussion on the ministry of labour and employment's operations.
